Maddie Dahlien on U.S. U20 team
Edina’s Maddie Dahlien is headed to Colombia with the U.S. U20 women’s national soccer team for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
With an opening match against Spain on August 1, the University of North Carolina junior will compete for a youth world title with the U.S. after first getting a national-team look at a training camp in April 2023.
Dahlien, 20, has helped the U.S. finish as runner up at the U-20 CONCACAF Championships and scored a hat trick against Jamaica in her first international match. Dahlien played club soccer at Minnesota Thunder Academy and graduated from Edina High School, where she was a three-time All-State soccer player and won state track titles in sprints and long jump.
