    [ad_1]

Brazil’s seasonally-adjusted industrial output increased by 1.1 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 0.9 per cent year on year (YoY) in March this year, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

As a result, the cumulative index in the year reached minus 0.4 per cent, whereas the cumulative index in 12 months remained stable.

Brazil’s seasonally-adjusted industrial output rose by 1.1 per cent over the February figure and by 0.9 per cent year on year in March this year, government statistics show.
While the leather, travelling goods and footwear sector contributed positively to the output, production of wearing apparel and accessories (minus 4.7 per cent) primarily hit the output.

Output increased in three of the four major economic categories and 16 of the 25 sub-sectors surveyed.

The leather, traveling goods and footwear sector contributed positively to the output.

However, among the eight activities recording decreases, manufacture of wearing apparel and accessories (minus 4.7 per cent) primarily affected the result of March 2023, having interrupted a sequence of three consecutive increases, with a cumulative 13.5 per cent.

The production of semi-durable and non-durable products increased by 4.7 per cent—the fourth consecutive positive rate in this type of comparison and the most significant since May 2021 (14.4 per cent).
