Pakistan’s cotton arrival fell by 60 per cent by August 31, 2024 during the new marketing year, due to high temperatures and heavy rains damaging crops in key regions.
This led the textile industry to increase cotton imports.
Spinning mills have signed deals for 1.6 million bales, with imports reaching 120,395 tons in early 2024, worth $255.7 million.
