Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie go so far back that their infamous year-long feud during their The Simple Life era was nothing more than a natural “blip” in their relationship.
The childhood best friends, both now 43 and mothers of two, recently posed together for W Magazine as part of its annual The Originals portfolio, looking as glamorous as ever as they addressed the drama that captured headlines in 2005.
Nicole described their year-long falling out as “a little blip” in their 40-plus-year friendship. Paris echoed her sentiment, saying, “The world was definitely making a way bigger deal of it than it actually was.”
The duo, who became friends at just two years old and starred together on the hit reality TV series The Simple Life from 2003-2007, also revealed that the upcoming reboot won’t dive too deeply into the feud.
“There wasn’t a Will Smith and Aunt Viv sit-down,” Nicole explained to W Magazine. “For us, it was just a small part of our long relationship.”
Paris added that during that era, the media thrived on creating feuds between celebrities. “The tabloids loved to exaggerate and invent stories,” she shared.
The pair reconciled within a year and reunited on-screen for the final season of The Simple Life in 2007.
In early 2024 — 20 years after The Simple Life first aired — Sill and Bill (their nicknames for each other) delighted fans by announcing the upcoming reboot, Paris & Nicole: The Encore.
