The Paris Olympics will be televised on NBC, USA, CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, Telemundo and Universo. All events will be streamed live on Peacock ($7.99 for a monthlong subscription). Streaming is also available on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app (TV provider login required).
Because Paris is seven hours ahead of Central time, no events will be live in prime time in the U.S. NBC’s prime-time programming, beginning at 6:30 p.m., is a curated show of highlights, replays, analysis, behind-the-scenes footage and celebrity segments.
(All times Central. Schedule is subject to change.)
Minnesota athletes in action
Regan Smith, Lakeville, swimming: Smith is back in the pool after finishing second in the 100-meter backstroke final Tuesday, swimming heats (USA, 4:46 a.m.) and likely a semifinal (NBC, 1:45 p.m.) in the 200 butterfly.
Jordan Thompson, Edina, women’s volleyball: The U.S., the defending Olympic champion, dropped the first two sets of its opening match to China but rallied to force a fifth set before losing 3-2 with a 15-13 final set. Up next in pool play: Serbia. (USA, 10 a.m.; replay, NBC, 4 p.m.)
Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves, and Nuni Omot, Mahtomedi, men’s basketball: In an exhibition game in London on July 20, Omot’s South Sudan team nearly upset Edwards’ American team. The U.S. came back from a 16-point deficit and needed a LeBron James layup in the final seconds to pull out a 101-100 win. South Sudan won its Olympic men’s basketball debut, 90-79 over Puerto Rico on Sunday, while the U.S. overcame a slow start to dispatch Serbia 110-84. (USA, 1:45 p.m.)
