India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a notification today in this regard. It said that 100 per cent polyester spun grey and white yarn (IS 17265:2019) will be implemented from October 05, 2023. Earlier, it was extended till June 30, 2023. But the government did not issue any notification to extend it further, so it came into effect from July 01, 2023.

The Indian government has postponed the implementation of Quality Control Order (QCO) on 100 per cent polyester spun grey and white yarn to October 2023, amid concerns from the domestic weaving industry.
The upstream spinning sector, however, was supporting its immediate implementation.
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a notification today.

While the weaving industry was consistently demanding for the extension, the upstream spinning industry was advocating for implementation of the QCO immediately.
